Born and raised in Oklahoma City, Andrew migrated westward to California for college, a career in photographic printing, and to meet his wife. After the world of photography went digital, he decided not to spend all day in front of a computer, and instead do something that used the other side of his brain. He studied veterinary science at Los Angeles Pierce College and became an RVT in California and a CVT in Oregon. Currently, he lives with his wife and a calico cat in a yellow house he built with his own two hands.
Bill was born in Chicago, Illinois, and started his veterinary career as an assistant at Lake Shore Animal Hospital in 1971. In 1975 he started working at Blum Animal Hospital in Chicago. He came to work for Animal Health Associates in 1996. Known for his perceptive animal handling skills, Bill has been successfully wrangling dogs and cats for over four decades. An ex-biker and Italian food lover, he enjoys the blues and all kinds of animals.
Crystal was born and raised in Albany, Oregon. She got her degrees in Administrative Medical Assisting and Medical Assisting from Linn-Benton Community College and worked for many years in doctors’ offices. Recently she decided that working in animal medicine is a much better fit for her. She and her husband love taking their two dogs, Kimber and Maverick, to the beach or hiking in the mountains. They also have fun driving the roads less traveled in Oregon, exploring the small towns, and learning the history of our beautiful state. In her free time, she enjoys reading, making her own soaps and lotions, creating chainmail jewelry, and baking.
Dianna grew up in Coos Bay, Oregon. She started her career in veterinary medicine as a kennel assistant in 2017. She plans to attend school to become a veterinary technician in the near future. She has a grumpy Chihuahua named Tank. Most of her free time is spent walking and cuddling with her dog, watching anime and Steven Universe, and visiting the beach. Her dream is to travel around the world to help strays and any animal in need.
Jeanette was born and raised in Southern California and moved to Eugene in 2016 to provide a better life for her family. She has a son and a fur family that consists of two chihuahuas (Snowy, the Diva, and Monkey, a momma’s boy with a gentle soul) and a cat (Sheldon aka Shelly Bean, a rescue kitty that likes warm hugs.) Jeanette enjoys ice skating, and exploring Oregon’s great outdoors with her son.
Josh moved to Oregon in 1996 to escape the Iowa winters, summers, springs, and falls of his youth. He flipped burgers at McDonald’s for 3 months before getting hired as Animal Health Associate’s first-ever male receptionist. Having worked for a vet in Iowa, he had the required experience to challenge the state boards when AHA needed another CVT in 1998. He became our fourth CVT at the time. He spent a few years at another hospital in town, but came back to AHA in 2007, and has been here ever since. In April of 2020, he was promoted to Hospital Administrator. Besides veterinary medicine, his passions are singing, playing music, race simulators, and making goofy faces at his wife and kids. He has a mischievous cat and a sweet senior dog.
Kathryn was born and raised in Flagstaff, Arizona, where she worked in the animal care and human health fields. She relocated to Oregon to be closer to her family and experience the great Pacific Northwest. After spending a few years in the hospitality industry she is glad to be back working with animals. She shares her home with two cats; Boya and Luna. Kathryn is also a part of the Community Theater world where she enjoys the life of a Stage Manager and prop master.
Kelsey grew up in Coos Bay, Oregon. Being surrounded by mountains, lakes, rivers, dunes, and beaches she developed a love for nature. Kelsey graduated from Marshfield Senior High in 2006 and is a wife and step-mom who enjoys spending her free time hiking and exploring with her family. Her goldendoodle, Nova joins the family on all their adventures. She has lived in Eugene since 2013.
MacKenzie was born in Montana and grew up in Idaho, dreaming of working in the veterinary field. She spent time in human medicine as a hospice nurse but eventually decided to pursue her lifelong interest and earned a degree in Veterinary Technology from the College of Southern Idaho with high honors. She moved to Eugene in 2009 and joined Animal Health Associates in 2013.
She has no human children, but plenty of fuzzy ones. She seems to attract the stray and castoff variety, so some of her furry family members include Mouse, the three-legged wonder cat, a less-than-brilliant Italian greyhound, and an abandoned Easter rabbit with a severe spinal injury.
She takes a special interest in client education, dentistry, pain management, anesthesiology, and rabbit medicine, and hopes to attain her Veterinary Technology Specialty Certification in Dentistry or Clinical Practice in the near future. In her spare time, she enjoys being crafty and antique shopping.
MacKenzie is also our AAFP Cat Advocate, helping ensure that we provide the best possible care to our feline patients.
